Season 3 Of Titans To Introduce Barbara Gordon

The first two seasons of DC Universe’s Titans have been hit or miss for me. Some very promising moments have only lead to being let down in the end. I don’t want to give anything away if you still haven’t caught up. The first season was cut short only to have its finale at the beginning of the second season. The tragedy at the end of the second season seemed very unnecessary and was a bit puzzling.

Despite being mediocre at best the series will go on with the third season. Today via Cinemablend we have learned about a new well-known character that will be featured in the series, Barbara Gordon. This news came during a Q&A session with cinematographer Boris Mojsovski via Facebook.

“Our first episode will have a new character, and it will be Barbara Gordon. We’re very excited, and there’s a new set,” said Mojsovski.

The question now is which version of Barbara Gordon are we going to get in Titans? We have seen her as Batgirl in most animated versions of her. But recently in video games as well as in Young Justice: Outsiders we have seen her as Oracle. Given that Mojsovski mentioned that there is a new set, it could be that they are maybe setting up a hub for her as Oracle?

Barbara Gordon made her comic book debut as Batgirl in January, 1967 in DC’s Detective Comics #359. Unfortunately she is very well known for the role she played in Batman: The Killing Joke, where she was paralyzed from the waist down by the Joker. Although this story was originally supposed to be an Elseworlds story, it was soon changed to DC canon. Then the character was reestablished as Oracle, a tech expert, and a computer wizard.

I am curious to see where the third season of Titans goes. With what they have done in the first two seasons, I am not holding my breath. It will be interesting to see who they cast to play Barara Gordon. Who do you think should play the daughter of Jim Gordon? Let us know in the comment section below!

The first two seasons of Titans can be seen via the DC Universe streaming service. There is currently not a release date for the third season.
