During ESPN’s ‘Sunday Night Baseball’ Marvel Studios released the trailer for their next Disney+ exclusive series, the espionage thriller, ‘Secret Invasion’. You can check out the trailer below!
Marvel Studios’ ‘Secret Invasion’ is set in the present time of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Nick Fury has learned of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of Skrulls that have the ability to shapeshift. In a race against time to stop the imminent Skrull invasion Fury needs to join his allies including Everett Ross, Maria Hill, and Talos, who is also a Skrull but has made a life for himself on Earth.
The series is based on an eight-issue Marvel Comics crossover from 2008. The promotional tagline for the event was “Who do you trust?” It also seems to follow the events of the 2019 MCU film, Captain Marvel where we first met the Skrulls and a young Nick Fury. With many Avengers now gone, it would make sense that this would be a good time for sleeper Skrulls to strike Earth.
Along with the trailer they also released a new poster featuring Nick Fury and a Skrull.
