Sergio Guerrero Garzafox on Developing a Pandemic Lockdown Film with Blursday [Exclusive Interview] | LALIFF

Blursday - Sergio Guerrero Garzafox

Blursday is too close to reality. It’s because the whole world lived through it during the pandemic lockdown. Director and Sergio Guerrero Garzafox hopes the film captures our lockdown moment as a time capsule of our lives.

Although the concept of filming couples living in their residences were initiated before the pandemic, Sergio Guerrero Garzafox quickly readapted the story with the backdrop of the first 100 days of the pandemic. Many familiar themes resonated from our experiences, including lockdown anxiety, toilet paper hoarding, and even weapon purchases.

Here’s a brief synopsis:

Blursday is a unique and profound film about loss, love, and pregnancy shot during the Covid-19 lockdown. A mirror on human behavior told by three real couples, in their own apartments in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and Buenos Aires in a hybrid production shot via Zoom and in person.

The film stars Marimar Vega, Horacio Pancheri, Sarah Chang, Vincent Soberano, Allison Walter, and Sam Brittan.
