Shang-Chi production is nearing.

Like many other productions, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was abruptly canceled in the first half of the year. The coronavirus pandemic put a stop to many big-budget films, but it was only a matter of time before these movies started up again. While there are still plenty of issues with the pandemic, productions are putting measures in place to ensure safety. This includes big Marvel Studios pictures like Shang-Chi. So, it was only a matter of time until we saw what these sets looked like.

7 News in Australia recently captured some awesome aerial footage of the set in a recent video. The reporter also stated that the cast and crew have arrived from overseas. What will follow next is two weeks of quarantine. After that, they will begin the actual shooting, which is all kinds of exciting.

While I’m still pretty apprehensive about the pandemic, it does sound like they’ve put some good measures in place to ensure safety. So long as we have proper quarantine and testing in place, I can see set as a fairly safe place to be, assuming they are as safe when it comes to food prep and delivery as well.

I’m also excited to see Simu Liu take on the role of Shang-Chi. He’s one of the stars of the great Canadian show Kim’s Convenience, and I know he’ll bring a lot of charisma and levity to what will likely be a fun film.
