We have a green Barside Buzz today folks as there are claims She-Hulk S2 is still happening post-strikes and some Savage Hulk teases also. Let us begin with She-Hulk which I think it would be fair to say has been a hot debate among MCU fans. For me, I have never been a fan of She-Hulk in cartoons or comics. The humor and fourth wall breaking doesn’t work for me with Jen and never has. Ergo, I was hardly surprised to find I felt the same with the MCU version.
To be clear, I have no issues with Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer/She-Hulk. She’s actually well cast and likable. I just don’t particularly care for the way the series was put across. It was true to the comics, but as said above, there in lies my issue.
So, there are many fans like me who didn’t care for She-Hulk. Equally there are those who loved it’s quirkiness and felt it refreshing. However, I never felt for one second that Marvel wouldn’t double down and make She- Hulk Season 2. Now one insider claims that will happen, eventually.

Yay, for those of you interested in She-Hulk S2. I myself will likely not be paying any attention. Unless I hear great things after a few episodes have come out.

Secondly, we have not even really a rumor, but more of a tease from CWGST. However, since this directly relates to something I’m quote passionate about, I’ll cover it with some hope.

As a rule I don’t cover teases like this. It could easily be turned around as being nothing by the poster. ‘oh, no I was just wondering out loud on social media, honest.’ Yet, I’ve discussed my thoughts on Hulk many times before, so even a tease gets my hopes up. I’ve said many times my comic book heroes were Batman, Spider-Man, Hulk, Wolverine and Fantastic Four, in that order.
Hulk, for me was at his peak in the MCU in Avengers 1-2 and Ragnarok. I had no issues with the Smart Hulk journey in Endgame. However, I think there were better ways to show why this was an evolution of the character in Infinity War than the whole, ‘no I won’t come out’ schtick.
The point is though, that I don’t want to see that remain as a permanent state. There is simply less drama to be had in the character once you make his life easier by merging Hulk and Bruce. Hulk’s entire popularity is the Jekyl and Hyde relationship and that Hulk can be out of control with rage. In other words, any situation can be turned into a piece of drama by Hulk emerging or being forced out. Why deny the chance to do that by keeping Hulk’s change as is? The MCU so far seems to have done away with that drama because they couldn’t make any solo Hulk movies.

Therefore, I’d love to see a Hulk movie, or show. One where we find out Hulk has actually been partially suppressed by Banner as Smart Hulk and see some kind of reversal. To see the drama of different versions of Hulk coming out like Joe Fixit, and the raw primal Grey Hulk for an example. That’s the future of the character, not traversing the universe getting into adventures as Smart Hulk. Nor turning up to cameo in She-Hulk Season 2.
At one point I’d have suggested a Hulk TV series. However, given the current climate, I don’t think that’s likely. Therefore, I say give us a Hulk trilogy to complete his character arc and then let Ruffalo retire. But if we can’t get a trilogy, then at least explore some of this in a one off Hulk focused movie. He’s an OG Avenger and he deserves it.
Have him captured by The Leader and experimented on. Or, adapt the Gamma World story from the cartoon Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. I just want to see the Savage Hulk back again and maybe some other sides of the Hulk multifaceted coin.
