The sequel Smile 2 needed to go further than the creepiness of grins on people’s faces. It certainly captured the horror elements as audiences watched a pop star descend into madness with fear and anxiety.

In a supporting role, Miles Gutierrez-Riley went along that journey on-screen with lead actress Naomi Scott navigating the haunts of this mysterious smiling demon.

The film stars Scott (Aladdin, Power Rangers), Rosemarie DeWitt (Rachel Getting Married, Your Sister’s Sister), Lukas Gage (Euphoria, The White Lotus), Gutierrez-Riley, Peter Jacobson (House, Fly Me to the Moon), Ray Nicholson (The Outsider, Licorice Pizza), Dylan Gelula (First Girl I Loved, Shithouse), Raul Castillo (Cassandro, Cha Cha Real Smooth), and Kyle Gallner (Strange Darling, Smile).

Patrick Finn returned to the director’s chair and wrote the story for the sequel.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with actor Miles Gutierrez-Riley about his role, channeling the personal assistant job, Naomi Scott, and whether he can still do that “smile.”

Miles Gutierrez-Riley started his career immediately with a breakout role as Ivan Taylor in the series The Wilds. He also appeared in the films On the Come Up, The Moon & Back, and I Wish You All the Best. This year, he also appeared in the Marvel mini-series Agatha All Along.

Smile 2 is available for purchase digitally and rental on Tuesday, November 19. Next year, on January 21, it will be available on 4K Ultra HD and DVD.
