Star Wars has been on the lips of fans on the front pages of site almost nonstop since Disney purchased Lucasfilm a handful of years ago. However, between the controversial nature of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and the impending controversy (calling it now) of Solo: A Star Wars Story, it’s hit a fever pitch. Now, all eyes are on the latter film.
Disney just released a new trailer for their upcoming Star Wars flick, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and I have to say, it doesn’t look too bad. This was a movie that courted a lot of controversy. It was bad enough that Lucasfilm decided to go back in time with a beloved character like Han Solo, but when they fired the initial directors with only three weeks left in principal photography, they committed to fighting an uphill battle with fans. Would fans actually take to a new interpretation of this character, lovingly portrayed by the great Harrison Ford? Who knows?
While the trailer is solid, I’m not sure it shows nearly enough of either Lando or Han for me to tell whether or not it’ll live up to the name. That being said, I feel like based on the limited amount I’ve seen, I’ll think these portrayals are good enough on their own, but won’t necessarily be considered anything close to the performances of their predecessors.
