Solo: A Star Wars Story VR Scene Gives Us A Good Look At Han And Lando

So this is pretty cool, but for full effect, it is best viewed on a mobile device or tablet:

First thing to say is that this is a pretty cool marketing technique from Lucasfilm to promote Solo: A Star Wars Story, which is released on May 25.

It really does feel like a unique way to tease an upcoming Star Wars movie. They did something similar for Rogue One, but that was more for an on-set behind-the-scenes look than this.

Secondly, I have to say that this teaser scene, along with the footage shown in Jammer’s story above, have made me think twice about this movie. I have to echo Jammer’s thoughts completely here. I too felt like there was nothing to get excited about with Solo. It just felt like the majority of us could have predicted the kind of content we would see in this movie. But damn, like Jammer, I can’t help but get drawn into the hype here.

The scene above seems to be teasing the bet where Han wins the infamous Millenium Falcon from Lando Calrissian. We all know it happened, and when you write it down in a sentence, it doesn’t fill one with wonder. Yet a movie has so many parts, which help to define how you feel about it. Right now, the mood, the feel and the Lando swagger all has me starting to get a bit geeked out.

I wasn’t a fan of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but somehow Lucasfilm has done enough to get me to Solo on opening weekend. Bravo!

What do you think of the scene above, whether in VR or not? Are you starting to feel the pull of Star Wars again? Let us know your thoughts below.
