Avengers: Infinity War Will Be Fastest Film To $1 Billion

One child of the Mouse House continues to break the other records, and according to a new report, Avengers: Infinity War will soon become the fastest movie to hit the $1 billion worldwide mark. Just as they did for the biggest opening weekend, Marvel’s mightiest warriors stripped the spot from previous title-holder, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Avengers: Infinity War should hit the mark sometime on a Friday or Saturday, in its 10th and 11th release day. Star Wars: The Force Awakens accomplishes this feat in its 12th day. Both films currently stand under the Walt Disney Studios banner, adding to continued success for the house that Walt built.

On Thursday, the film tallied a whopping worldwide total of $905.1 million. Of that total, $338.4 million came from North America alone. On the same day, the film opened in Russia to the tune of $4.9 million, the biggest opening day of all time in that country. On May 11, the film will open in China, the 2nd biggest box office market in the world.

As the 34th film ever to cross the $1 billion mark, this is the 17th Disney film to do so and the 6th from Marvel Studios, joining The Avengers, Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Black Panther, Iron Man 3 and Captain America: Civil War. Now, the world waits to see if this film can march near the mark left by Avatar.
