With Avengers: Infinity War dominating the movie news world lately, in case it had slipped your mind, there is a new Star Wars film coming out later this month, Solo: A Star Wars Story. Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, recently appeared on the Cape Up with Jonathan Capehart Podcast and while speaking about Anthony Daniels, who has played C-3PO, let it slip that everyone’s favorite golden droid will be appearing in the upcoming Han Solo anthology film.

“[Anthony] Daniels was so happy, ‘cause he’s in every single Star Wars movie. Every single one. All the prequels, he’s in Rogue One, he’s in Solo… Whoops! I hope that’s not — erm… but anyway, he’s in every single Star Wars movie. That’s not such a reveal — all Star Wars fans expect him to be in every movie.”

I think Hamill is correct in saying this isn’t some unforeseen surprise. Lucasfilm found room to fit both C-3PO and R2-D2 into Rogue One, and as Hamill said since Threepio has been in every Star Wars movie, this just makes sense. This information isn’t a big plot point so I debated whether or not to include a spoiler warning in this article. Another Mark, Ruffalo, has become notorious for revealing spoilers, and his spoilers could actually ruin the movie for people (Have you seen the interview with Ruffalo and Don Cheadle?). So this small faux pas by Hamill isn’t a huge deal in my opinion.
