Sony Releasing Another Marvel Film In 2021 — Could It Be Kraven The Hunter?

According to recent reports, the SAG-AFTRA strike talks are not going as well as hoped.

Another wild Sony Marvel movie appears. I’ll admit, when it became clear that Sony would be creating their own universe of characters with Venom, I was amused. And I didn’t hate the movie. I mean, it wasn’t really good, but I found it to be harmless. However, with the coming of Morbius and the seeming appearance of Vulture, I can tell things are getting serious. Add in the Sony-Marvel drama of last year, where for a solid month Spidey was out of the MCU, and I started to feel just the slightest bit of anxiety mixed in with excitement.

The prospect of Sony developing their own Sony Universe of Marvel Characters is becoming more real, and I’m not sure if my feelings are positive or negative. But I know a lot of you folks are a lot more pissed off by all things Sony and Marvel, so consider this your Pepto-Bismol break.

I’ll wait.

Okay, are you all set? Sony has just revealed that there is an untitled Sony/Marvel movie set to hit on October 8, 2021. This comes on the heels of a twofer year, with 2020 set to release Morbius and Venom. Furthermore, we know that the third MCU-set Spider-Man movie will be released in July of 2021.

Now, the big question is…what could it be? Well, as mentioned above, Vulture popped up in the first Morbius trailer, and they could make up two of the Sinister Six villain team-up. In addition, we already have Scorpion from Spider-Man: Homecoming, and for all we know, Venom could also make up that crew. Between that third Spider-Man movie and the next mystery movie, we could slowly be assembling our team.

For further clues, I point to a recent rumor involving one Kraven the Hunter. As we reported last week, a recent rumor from The Illuminerdi pointed to the character showing up at some point in the near future, and that October 2021 date seems like a good bet.

With this in mind, will we see it all collide together in a 2022 film? As I’ve said before, I’m simultaneously horrified and excited. Sony has a spotty track record with their movies and I worry they’ll inadvertently ruin the Marvel I.P. as they scramble to make a quick buck. However, another part of me is excited. If 2022 is when we will see a Sinister Six movie, I think the proper groundwork will have been laid, and it will all rest with the execution.
