Sophie Turner Says Game Of Thrones Has Unpredictable Ending

Game of Thrones has one hell of a task ahead of it. After several seasons of unpredictable and engaging storytelling, they’ll need to find a satisfying way to end it all. After years and years of the battle for the Seven Kingdoms, we’ll finally get to see who will end up sitting on that Iron Throne, and which players will be sacrificed along the way.

Speaking with Digital Spy, star Sophie Turner discussed the upcoming season, and whether or not die-hard fans will ultimately be satisfied, saying:

“People have come up with so many fan theories about how it’s going to end, and who will end up where, and who will end up with who. It really is so unpredictable the way that it ends up. I’m very satisfied with that, and I think that the fans will be satisfied with that, too. Well, we hope. We’ll see!”

There is also one other odd aspect about this show. Unlike many others based on source material, the ending for this story hasn’t hit bookshelves yet, and that may lead some to believe there will be nothing left to discover once the series ends. Turner seems to suggest that isn’t the case:

“From reading the books thus far, it was their interpretation of where they thought the show would go. They’re still doing justice to the story, and serving the characters in the way they feel like they should be. I mean, they definitely upped the ante [in the final episodes]. They’ve got nice, big battle scenes, that’s for sure.”

So they will be doing justice to the story, but rest assured that this is just the showrunners’ interpretation of where they thought the show would go, not necessarily an indication of what author George R.R. Martin had in mind.
