Minimalist Marie Kondo believes happiness is less and not more.
The Japanese organizing consultant has helped millions of people through her books on organizing, including her bestseller self-help book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up.
In 2019, Netflix released Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, which followed her visits to several American family homes to assist in clearing their clutter and tidying up their homes with the KonMari method. The popular series became an instant hit for Netflix and it spawned several memes, including “I love mess.”
Now the master organizer returns for another new series, which seems to possibly be based on her books Spark Joy and Joy at Work: Organizing Your Professional Life.
Here’s the official synopsis for Sparking Joy:
Global organization icon and author Marie Kondo is back in the new Netflix series, Sparking Joy. Marie has been helping people spark joy in their homes while transforming their lives in surprising and emotional ways. In this three-episode series, Marie takes it a step further by using her life-changing method to help three deserving businesses organize their workplace along with an emotional tidy up of one employee’s life whether it’s in the home, work, personal life, and/or relationships. Viewers will also step into Marie’s home to meet her family and get a glimpse into how she tidies up her daily life!

Despite the Internet mockery, Marie Kondo has an infectious lovable personality on screen and demonstrated with her instructions with her books. Although tidying up and being a minimalist is hard to achieve, her previous series managed to showcase life improvements with many families she helped. Not to mention, her books offered many ways to organize the clutter in a more orderly matter.
