Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which just broke the domestic box office record is to get a re-release with deleted scenes added back in. I will say this is unusual so soon after dominating at the box office for a move like this. Perhaps Sony has their eyes set on displacing one of the all-time champs above them? Though, with Endgame Encore currently in a re-release also, it’ll be tough to catch either that or Avatar.
As per Deadline,
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the highest-grossing movie of all time at the domestic box office and the third-highest grossing ever worldwide, is getting a re-release, we hear.’
‘Sources are buzzing that the movie directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and starring Tom Holland will have extra footage that includes, but is not limited to, Rosario Dawson’s character Claire Temple.’
‘No word yet as to when the re-release will happen. Logic dictates that Sony would have some sort of access to premium large-format screens during a quiet time at the box office.’

Maybe the idea is to keep the film in theatres in the led up to Avengers: Doomsday alongside Endgame Encore? Get fans hypes for December?
Either way, and just like Endgame Encore, I’ll wait to catch the deleted scenes online, or on streaming. I imagine, (also just like Endgame Encore) they’ll be online with a few days of the re-release.
As for what we may get? Well there’s Rosario Dawson’s cut scenes as ‘Night Nurse’ Claire Temple that were cut, as stated by the trade. That was one I had heard about also prior to the source article, in terms of cut scenes. I’m unsure exactly what else ended up on the cutting room floor though?
