Spider-Man: Far From Home – Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders Confirmed!

A couple weeks back, we reported on the interesting news that came courtesy of actor Numan Acar. He’d been cast in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home, and in a random Instagram post, he used hashtags that included the names of Cobie Smulders and Samuel L. Jackson, which seemed to hint at the duo’s involvement in the movie…but it was far from a confirmation.

In a post from Vulture, the outlet confirms that both Jackson and Smulders will be reprising their roles as Nick Fury and Maria Hill, respectively. Given the state that we saw the two in at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, I’d say their roles in Spider-Man: Far From Home are a step up.

The outlet also notes that 2019 will be Jackson’s most involved year in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in recent memory, as he’ll also be playing a sizable role in the ’90s-set Captain Marvel, starring Brie Larson. With Spider-Man: Far From Home, it will also mark Jackson and Smulders’ first interactions with Spider-Man, as he came on board after we last saw the pair…not including their cameos in Infinity War.

As of right now, Spider-Man: Far From Home is shooting in Europe, which is fitting since the film is set in Europe (you know…far from home), and will see Peter tackling his issues (and presumably Jake Gyllenhaal) abroad.
