Bubbles and the rest of the Trailer Park Boys have the most unforgettable adventure of their lives.

In this documentary (well, it’s really a narrative film), Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties: The Bubbles and the Shitrockers Story, Bubbles forms a band and goes on tour with Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters. Of course, plenty of shenanigans will happen on tour with unforgettable experiences.

The entire cast of the Trailer Park Boys, including Bubbles (Mike Smith), Ricky (Robb Wells), Julian (John Paul Tremblay), and Randy (Patrick Roach), participate in this musical documentary about Bubbles and the Shitrockers.

The rest of the cast includes Billy Bob Thornton (Sling Blade), Ronnie Wood (“The Rolling Stones”), Martin Freeman (The Hobbit), Robert Sheehan (The Umbrella Academy), and many more!

Charles Lightening directed the movie based on a story by Mike Smith (aka Bubbles).

Here is the official synopsis:

While Bubbles and his band, “The Shitrockers,” are playing shows around Nova Scotia a viral Internet clip lands them a European tour opening for Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters. With Randy as their roadie, they head to Prague but soon get kicked off the tour, busking to survive. Can Ricky and Julian come to the rescue?

*Not just fiction on screen, Bubbles and The Shitrockers are also a real-life musical act fronted by Mike Smith. The band will release a new 14-track album this fall, following their successful run on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify, as well as extensive touring across the US and Europe, including performances alongside Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with The Trailer Park Boys of Bubbles, Ricky, Julian, and Randy, about their experiences, Europe, music, and what to expect in their futures.

The Trailer Park Boys are the colorful residents of Nova Scotia’s trailer parks as, for years, they devise get-rich schemes, but with plenty of laughs and screw-ups.

Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties: The Bubbles and the Shitrockers Story is in theaters nationwide, including Los Angeles and New York, on Friday, December 6.
