Star Wars – Check Out This Super Cool Map Of A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Why did it take this long for fans to get a map of the Star Wars universe? Just in case you’re ever cruising around a galaxy far, far away (be sure not to run out of fuel, thanks Last Jedi) and make a wrong left turn, there is now a map to keep you from getting lost. A neat bit of cosmic cartography that is sure to interest most any Star Wars nerd. You can find the map in the Galaxy’s Edge Traveller’s Guide to Batuu. It can also be found below in a tweet from The Planetary Pilot.

A description of the planet Batuu can be found below.

“As you see, Batuu is on the Western reaches of the Outer Rim, perched on the edge of the known and the unknown. It is precisely this location that has shaped the planet’s history. Before advanced hyperspace capabilities, Batuu’s position made it a bustling fuel stop for ships heading into wild space. With the advances in technology and well-charted hyperlanes, most modern travelers choose to bypass Batuu, resulting in the planet becoming a crossroads for adventurers and a haven for those who prefer life in the shadows.”

Looking around the map (it gets a little blurry when zooming in) I found Coruscant and Alderaan, which considering the scale of what we’re working with, are neighbors toward the center of the galaxy. Also spotted were Yavin, Kashyyyk and Mandalore. It was also interesting to learn how close Dagobah and Mustafar are to each other. One would think that even with the Dark Side energy shielding Yoda’s presence, considering the close proximity of the two planets, one would think Vader would have felt at least a small trimmer in the Force.

Anyway, enjoy this fantastic look at a galaxy we all love!
