So we have another little rumor that kind of went under the radar along with some of the more widely sourced items we reported on earlier in the week. We recently found out some small rumors which seemed to add up given they were verified by two independent sources. You can catch up with that in the related section below.
Now, there appears to be a bit of new information from scoop site Making Star Wars, we will call this rumor for now as it appears to be single sourced and therefore not as certain as the previously leaked information. Today’s rumor thus involves the mysterious Knight of Ren.

You probably remember being pretty excited to see the Knights of Ren when they were first mentioned in The Force Awakens, and we think even glimpsed in a flash forward or flashback Force vision. However, when The Last Jedi was released there was simply no mention at all of the Knights of Ren and they did not feature at all in the movie. Well according to the outlet the Knights of Ren are going to be making their full appearance in Star Wars: Episode 9.
The report says that the Knights were originally pegged as “Force Wielding Mercenaries”. However, they are now being referred to as “a group with many special abilities.” The outlet goes onto speculate this may because they display some “unnatural” abilities? Other than being a reference to the Darth Plagueis speech Chancellor Palpatine delivers to Anakin in Revenge of the Sith, I fail to see what would determine them to be unnatural in some way?
Is the outlet suggesting they are somehow linked up with that Darth Plagueis story? I can’t tell you that, but we can say that it was not too long ago we had heard rumor that we may get a flashback showing a young Palpatine (this was dismissed by many sites). I then theorized that if we did see a young Palpatine flashback, then the only reason I could find for this would be to show his betrayal of Darth Plagueis. Now, this is all unconfirmed speculation on my part, so let’s make that very clear. It could simply mean that Abrams has made a decision to not classify the Knights of Ren as Force users? Though that doesn’t make much sense to me I have to say.
