The other day we shared a wild rumor that there was a placeholder reserved for Star Wars: Episode 9 teaser at this year’s Superbowl. The report had said that this was listed as “Existing Star Wars: Episode 9 Teaser”. Since then there is some good news and some bad news.

Firstly the poster who claimed this (BrotherDameron) has managed to prove they have the credentials or potential to have been given access to this information, which kind of upgrades this rumor to something more tangible. But, there is also that bad news I spoke about. Unfortunately, BrotherDameron has now gone onto Reddit to declare that there could be an issue.

Apparently, their contact at CBS has told them that Pepsi the soft drink giant is currently attempting to purchase this slot for their own adverts given the fact that the teaser footage has not yet been submitted. Whilst this doesn’t mean for certain that there won’t be a teaser coming soon, it does throw some shade on our excitement. Is it possible that Disney had planned to have a teaser ready by now and booked the slot at the Superbowl in anticipation? If that’s the case it’s also possible that Disney has since changed their marketing strategy, and has now decided to hold the teaser and potential title reveal a little longer.

Fans best guess of where a teaser will show up seems to be at Star Wars Celebration which begins on April 11th. But as we said in the previous article, that would be leaving things very late compared to both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. So watch this space as now the leaker has some verification they have promised to update fans if they hear anything else either way.

Sadly though, it seems like we may have to wait a little longer than we had hoped for the first reveal of Star Wars: Episode 9 and its title. If we hear any further news about this we will be sure to share it as soon as we can.
