Star Wars Episode X: A New Beginning Is Rumored Title Of Rey Sequel | Barside Buzz

In a recent interview, Daisy Ridley says she's ready for a Rey return in the upcoming Star Wars sequel currently in development.

According to the latest Barside Buzz from a good source, the title of the Rey Sequel movie is Star Wars Episode X: A New Beginning. The information comes from the folks over at TCC who have a great hit rate for leaks. Usually Marvel though and not Star Wars, but still. We’ve know there was a sequel to The Rise of Skywalker coming and that it would star Daisy Ridley as Rey. However so far we’ve been referring to it as the Rey Sequel or the Obaid -Chinoy Star Wars movie, for director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.

Some outlets have been referring to this movie as New Jedi Order, however that always seemed unlikely. The era we are now starting to explore was coined the New Jedi Order era by Lucasfilm. It was never stated that would be the title.

Here is what TCC had to say;

‘According to our own sources, we can confirm that A New Beginning is indeed the name of the film. More specifically, our sources stated that the film is Star Wars: Episode X- A New Beginning, with the W/T being “New Jedi Order.”’

Let’s face it though, the biggest news here is not the title. It is the fact that this is being called Episode X, which indicates a direct continuation of the Skywalker Saga. Now I do not like this in all honesty. Though, this goes back farther. I always felt what became Episode 7 should have been subtitled and called Episode 1 of a new saga. This would have put less pressure on the filmmakers to design a new end for a nine part saga. Ergo, we would not have had to get the dumpster fire that was The Rise of Skywalker. Now they could be filming Episode IV instead of X.

How can we have a Skywalker Saga where there are no Skywalkers left? It would be easier to just start a new saga and call this Episode 1 of the New Jedi Order Saga.

So I guess I’m kinda annoyed by this more than I am excited in any way. But as with all movies, let’s wait and see what we get first.

Finally there was some more information in this report from TCC. They also have found out the working title of The Mandalorian and Grogu is ‘Thunder Alley’. This could reference a Star Wars name connected with a Legends novel. Those are no longer canon but it seems Lucasfilm are now willing to use them as inspiration for new stories.

What do you think then of the rumor the Rey Sequel’s title is Star Wars Episode X: A New Beginning? Like me does this seem a bad idea to you, or are you up for it? As always, leave any thoughts below.
