Today we have a fan edit of the ending of The Rise of Skywalker. In my opinion, this video makes the anti-climatic ending of the film better. The video comes from YouTuber jon_h.
Not only do I love the idea, but the FX also appear to fit seamlessly. A fan has done what Disney should have done in the first place. Put the Jedi backing Rey into the sequence, instead of just their voices. You can check out the video down below.
Again, why wasn’t this originally part of the film? Why did it take a fan to in the words of Palpatine, “Do what must be done.” I just think Palpy should have put up a better fight than he did. Yes, even against his super-powered granddaughter and the rest of the Jedi. I mean, he has survived all these years, and once fooled even the most powerful of Jedi with his Force ability.
Yeah, he is a weakened Emperor, but geez, couldn’t he dig deep for one more big push? His deformed/failed clone, Supreme Leader Snoke was able to push Rey around the room with ease with just the use of his finger. You’d think Palpatine would pose more of a challenge.
The sequel trilogy, for me, was mediocre at best. I think Rey, Finn, Kylo, and Poe, had lots of potential as characters, but I think they were mishandled, and badly executed. As for the iconic trio and Chewie, mishandled doesn’t begin o describe my feelings on how they were treated. My apologies for the saltiness of the second half of this article.
