Would you like a Star Wars Mandalorian game update? Of course you would and you might like to hear about a High Republic game also? Last week we shared a rumor that a Star Wars game based on The Mandalorian was coming, there was also evidence this game could end up being an Xbox Exclusive and developed by ZeniMax, the company who owns Bethesda, who were recently bought by Microsoft. You can find all those original details in the related link below. However, since then we have a new update from games insider Jeff Grub.
Grub says there are two Star Wars games in development, one is going to be about the High Republic, the period hundreds of years before the events of the movies. So far the High Republic has only appeared in written form in novels. However it looks like there is a High Republic game in early development. Equally Grubb also says there is a Mandalorian game coming and again, that’s very early in the development cycle. We had previously heard from Jason Schreier that a Mando game was definitely in the pipeline. Then we had Nick “Shpeshal Ed” Baker confirm that something Star Wars related was being ramped up by ZeniMax for an Xbox Exclusive.

That’s now three very good sources saying some very similar and yet different information. So what does this tell us? It looks like both a High Republic and Mando game are in early development, but where? ZeniMax and one of their studios is a good bet for one of those games, but which one we do not know? Fans have wondered whether the game from ZeniMax will follow the usual RPG model the company are famous for. However there are also some rumors that their Star Wars game could be more of an online shooter, MMO type game, though take that part with a grain of salt for now.
