Star Wars (1977) Directed by George Lucas Shown: R2-D2 (inside: Kenny Baker)
For years, Star Wars fans had wondered why the Empire left their massive space station so vulnerable with a two-meter wide exhaust port that if fired upon, would destroy the entire station. We now know that Galen Erso put that sort of fail-safe into the Death Star, as he had no love for the Empire, but was forced to work on the project.
Disney spent $200M (making over $1B) fixing one of the more famous plotholes within the sci-fi series, and cinema in general with Rogue One. Recently, Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, tweeted that he had contemplated another supposed plothole within the Star Wars universe and ultimately just gave up on justifying it, you can check out the tweet below.

Well, there’s a simple explanation for this one, R2-D2 knows what happens to snitches. I also don’t find him to be the type who is a fan of gossip. It could also be explained that R2, much like Heath Ledger’s Joker, just wants to watch the world burn. Also, we all know R2 is kind of a dick. Or perhaps the Force itself hand a hand in R2 keeping this secret. Preventing the droid from altering the outcome of the story and destiny itself.
Show me a film without a plothole and Bigfoot and I will ride in on a unicorn and show you a politician that has never lied (I’m kidding, we all know those don’t exist, the politicians). I’m sure you all could provide examples in the comments, and please feel free to do so.
