Been checking out some of the Star Wars: The Acolyte social media reactions and they are fairly positive, however it’s nothing new to get overly positive reactions at this stage. So the question remains can we ever trust these social media reactions from creators, or press who are invited to watch early? The review embargo is only just before the show releases which could go any way.
This would not be the first time that a show or movie has all positive reactions and then the reviews come in and slate it. I’m not saying that will happen here and I hope it does not. I actually think The Acolyte looks good, but I will of course reserve judgement till we see it. LRM will be reviewing it on The Cantina which will return for this. I’ll try to join Cam and Kyle when I can.
Still, I’m not going to blindly trust these reactions. Have a look at a small selection below.

I’ll start with one that was not all positive for some balance.
Four episodes into Star Wars: #TheAcolyte & it’s a mixed experience. The lore hints at KOTOR potential, yet the pacing occasionally lags. While the fight scenes are engaging, they often feel misplaced. Hoping to see stronger performances and a clearer narrative direction soon. pic.twitter.com/m5V0EZskoc

Still not a bad reaction though?
Here is what Slash Film‘s Peter Sciretta thought.
Saw the first two episodes of #TheAcolyte — I loved that it felt so much like classic @starwars while at the same time feeling new, fresh and different from anything we’ve seen before. The action felt movie-level. So excited to see more! pic.twitter.com/lkOC5IPm4S

Beholden to nothing except being “Star Wars,” #TheAcolyte soars.
It’s an interesting, fun, character driven mystery with real stakes that you care about bolstered by all the fixings that make it Star Wars.
Saw the first two episodes and LOVED THEM. pic.twitter.com/XY29LSVcfX

It is worth noting that some of these journos; or content creators have seen two episodes and some seem to have seen four.
#TheAcolyte is a blend of murder mystery with Star Wars charm. 4 episodes in, and it’s clear that this new timeline will add to the lore of the galaxy in BIG ways. The Kung Fu force fighting is MAGICAL! JJ as Sol is the COOLEST Jedi since QUI GON! Can’t wait to see where it goes pic.twitter.com/STbdMUBbFS

If you recall, the original pitch for The Acolyte by showrunner Leslye Headland was said to be Frozen meets Kill Bill. Well here’s one reviewer saying they can see the Kill Bill influences.
#StarWars #TheAcolyte gives me Kill Bill vibes. Every episode left me wanting more, in a good way. We’ve seen so much about the fall of the Jedi but this show explores what the Jedi we’re like during peace time, which is quite fascinating. @AmandlaStenberg is outstanding! pic.twitter.com/67weNyvcdN

Of course there are literally hundreds of these on social media now and this was just a small selection of their thoughts. However, the general response as said in the title is positive so far. Yet, I’ll wait for the actual reviews to hit saying it’s great before I get too hyped.
What do you think of these positive Star Wars: The Acolyte social media reactions? Do you trust them at all, or do you think the reviews will tell the real story? Let us know.
