According to a new report, there’s a Star Wars: The High Republic animated series in development. The High Republic period has so far produced only printed content. However according to Cinelinx (Jordan Maison) an animated series set ion this period is also being developed.
If true, this would mark the first time The High Republic period has made it’s way into a visual medium. The outlet says that three animated shows are being worked on, The Bad Batch, The High Republic, and an unknown who they assume may be a Rebels sequel. I have personally always felt like the Rebels sequel is going to be live-action as opposed to animated, but that remains to be seen? Additionally through LRM‘s own source, we have hard of another animated project. Our source told us that a Rogue Squadron type show was also being developed for animation. So make of that what you will?

Thus far, I have not looked very far into any of these High Republic stories. I am currently reading The Wheel of Time, so not had the chance to read much else for a while given how lengthy those books are. However, an animated show set hundreds of years before The Phantom Menace sounds interesting to me. I guess we shall have to wait and see what the quality is like if this goes ahead?
For now, the only confirmed animated show is The Bad Batch, and the only confirmed live-action shows are Mando Season 3, Cassian, Kenobi, and Leslye Headland’s unnamed show. However when it comes to rumors, we have a ton of live-action shows being developed. It makes sense that more than The Bad Batch would be developed for the animated side of the coin. Though, being developed does not always mean going to series, so until anything is officially announced there is a chance it could fall off the docket.
