Star Wars: The Last Jedi – This One Actor Thought His Character Would Die

Star Wars: The Last Jedi was a film that brought with it a whole bevy of surprises. Like it or not, it’s a film that brought a lot of change to the beloved franchise, including its share of important deaths.

However, there was one actor whose character made it to the end of the film, and it surprised even him. Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, actor Domhnall Gleeson shared that he thought General Hux would be kicking the bucket pretty early on in the film.

“I’ll be honest, I was very surprised that I survived. I kind of imagined myself getting blown up in a ship pretty early on. Spoiler alert, I suppose. There’s also this moment where Ren is on the ground, and it looks like maybe I’ll finish him. It’s like, what state would the franchise be in if like Snoke and Ren are gone? And it’s just Hux going right. Can you imagine how annoyed people would’ve been?”

Given how outraged many Star Wars fans were already by this film, I don’t really think there could have been a lot more, to be honest. But yes, it would have been one hell of a left turn if Kylo had bitten the dust, leaving Hux as the final obstacle. That would have left Episode IX with a lot less resolutions to bring about.
