A couple of weeks ago, we jumped the gun and reported, based on an unverified tweet, that the upcoming Star Wars series from Disney+ likely finished its principal photography. The post was later brought into question by a third-party source that contacted us, and it looks like this is the final nail in the coffin on that report. First off, we apologize for jumping the gun on that report, and secondly, we now have confirmation that NOW the series has finished production.
The news comes from the official Star Wars show on YouTube that the Jon Favreau executive produced series is done! Well, done with that stage of the process, at least. Of course, seeing as it’s a Star Wars series, there is sure to be a whole lot of CG and VFX to be added to it in post-production, meaning that they’ll need all the time they can get before the show launches in late 2019.
The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito, Carl Weathers, and many other talented folks.
Below is the official synopsis for The Mandalorian:
“The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”
