Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Casting Rumor May Have Just Be Accidentally Announced

It’s been a while since a new The Rise of Skywalker rumor with some credit showed up on the radar, but that’s exactly what we have here. Well, it’s more like a resurfaced rumor and it deals with Doctor Who alum Matt Smith.

Smith was rumored a long time ago to have been cast in the final movie of the Skywalker Saga. However, he was never officially announced and last month he refuted rumors of his participation. Then the internet did what the internet does when people aren’t paying attention to what they’re posting and we now have at least three international sites for Disney with Smith’s name in the cast.
Who he will be playing is a big question. There are those of us on the site that think he may be a young Palpatine or Palpatine clone. Some think he could be Rey’s father. Others believe he’s reprising his role as The Doctor in a surprise crossover event. Personally, I think Disney would use the same youth-a-nizing tech from the MCU on Ian McDiarmid to have a young or cloned Pappa Palpatine on the screen instead of casting another actor.

No matter who he is playing, The Rise of Skywalker is sure to have plenty of surprises for fans.

Are you happy to see this cast member basically unofficially officially confirmed? Who do you think Matt Smith will be playing on screen? Let us know in the comments below!
