Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Footage Description | D23 2019

If you think Marvel is big on secrets you should try following a J.J. Abrams project. The upcoming finale of the Skywalker Saga, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, has had very little revealed. Disney and LucasFilm have been tight-lipped on the story, the locations, and of course the story… wait…

At the D23 Expo new footage was revealed, also a poster you can see HERE, and it sounds… divisive. Firstly, a lot of footage from past films was shown. There are shots from the Original Trilogy of Han and Leia as well as Luke on Tatooine. There were also shots from The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Then there’s the footage from the final film….

Star Destroyers in formation, Rey throwing a lightsaber and calling it back to her hand, her and Kylo Ren fighting surrounded by water (possibly on the wreckage of the Death Star), Emperor Palpatine saying “Now your journey nears its end.” with Vader’s breathing, and finally Rey wielding a double-sided Lightsaber… THAT’S RED!!!

Does this mean she goes dark? Could we see the switcheroo people wanted to happen in the Last Jedi? Will this film try to shove too much story into too short a time? Let us know in the comments below!
