Star Wars: Visions has been renewed for Season 3 by Lucasfilm for Disney+ reports THR. The anime series has proved popular across Season 1 and 2 amongst fans. Even someone like me who isn’t into to anime at all could appreciate some of the really cool episodes.
Here is what the trade has reported from first day of Disney’s two-day Content Showcase event in Singapore.
‘Disney and Lucasfilm have revealed that animated anthology series Star Wars: Visions is coming back for a third volume in 2025.’
‘Volume three of Visions will return to Japan, with 9 new animated shorts from anime studios in the country. The Japanese studios involved include David Production, Kamikaze Douga+ ANIMA, Kinema Citrus, Polygon Pictures, Production I.G, Project Studio Q, TRIGGER and WIT Studio.’

I know what many fans of Season 1 and 2 will be thinking they want from Season 3 though. Some continuation of stories already begun. I know the idea is for unique stories which don’t need to rely on any canon or theme. However, some of the stories in Season 1 and 2 were good enough, and left open enough that fans would just like to see more. There are as you can see studios that worked on Season 1 back, but none from Season 2.
The fact that Production I.G, the studio behind The Ninth Jedi from Season 1 is back… Well, it makes me wish for a sequel. However, I won’t get my hopes up on that. I was slightly disappointed we didn’t get a follow up to that one in Season 2. One can hope I guess?
