Steven Yeun IS Playing Sentry In Thunderbolts According To Robert Kirkman

At CinemaCon this last week Kevin Feige confirmed that the title of Thunderbolts is now Thunderbolts* though never explained why.

According to comic book legend Robert Kirkman, Steven Yeun IS playing Sentry in Thunderbolts! Yeun has long been known to be involved with the movie. However, the rumor mill began to suggest he was playing Sentry, one of Marvel’s mos insanely powered characters. To be honest the rumors were so prevalent, from so many sources, that this is hardly a surprise.

However, in a recent video appearance Kirkman, (friends with Yeun through their work on Invincible) confirmed the news. Kirkman said Yeun called him to talk about his costume fitting. Joking that he was destined to play superheroes that wear yellow and blue. Check out ScreenTime‘s social media coverage of the original source below.

“My good friend Steven Yeun is playing the Sentry in a movie.”

“Yeah, he called me, he went in for a costume fitting. I hope I’m not, I don’t think this is a spoiler or anything that will get anybody in trouble. I don’t know, maybe. We’ll see, I don’t care. I don’t work for Marvel. What are they going to do to me? He called me and he said, ‘I just came back from a costume fitting for the Sentry. I guess I only do superheroes that are yellow and blue.’ He said he was at the costume fitting and was like, ‘Aww, crap. I forgot Invincible was yellow and blue.'”

As said above, this is hardly surprising news. However, outside of Kevin Feige announcing the casting himself this is about as official a confirmation as you;’re gonna get. Steven Yeun IS Sentry in Thunderbolts.

The rest of the Thunderbolts roster is Red Guardian (David Harbour), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Yelena (Florence Pugh), Bucky (Sebastian Stan), John Walker (Wyatt Russell), and Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko). And putting the team together is Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Val.

I’m looking forward to Thunderbolts. It might be no good, don’t get me wrong, but the elements are present to make a pretty entertaining movie for me. Let’s hope Marvel Studios pulls this one off.

What do you think of the news Steven Yeun is playing Sentry in Thunderbolts according to Robert Kirkman? Thoughts below as always.
