While Stranger Things may be a horror series, it’s also very much a coming of age tale with its young cast. Last season saw Mike Wheeler and Eleven have something of a puppy love story.
Coming from the terrible confines of Hawkins Lab and Dr. Martin Brenner, she had no real connection to the real world, and Mike served as her first look into it. As such, they grew pretty close in the season before she disappeared.
Well, next season, it looks like another important cast member may get a potential crush. Taking to Twitter, actor Caleb McLaughlin (who plays Lucas Sinclair), teased his own Eleven next season.

So who can this be? Well, it’s probably the character of Max, a tomboyish girl who comes to Hawkins next season and befriends the group in the midst of all the strange stuff happening. We did already see a glimpse of her in a clip from the video game:

In the past, the creators of the show did tease another potential “love triangle” (though I use the world “love” loosely here) between her, Lucas, and Dustin. Could McLaughlin’s comments hint at who will end up getting closer to the character of Max? We’ll have to wait and see.
Stranger Things 2 hits Netflix on October 27, 2017.
