Stranger Things: David Harbour On Sheriff Hopper’s Biggest Challenge

David Harbour’s Sheriff Hopper has stepped up to the plate in both seasons of Netflix’s Stranger Things. With an upcoming third season due out sometime next year, Hopper is sure to be right in the thick of another dire situation. Harbour recently spoke with TheWrap, and discussed how his character in the person to go to when bad times in Hawkins, Indiana once again rear their ugly heads.

“The interesting thing about Hopper is that he’s really great in a crisis, he’s really great running around punching people and solving crimes and being a man of justice. And what’s he like when there are no crimes, and when he’s just raising a teenage daughter who’s becoming a woman — I think it is probably the greatest challenge for him. It is probably much more terrifying than any demogorgon could possibly be.”

I would have to disagree with Harbour on that one, while I have never raised a teenager or battled a demagorgon, I know which task I would choose to take on. One of my favorite parts in the first season is when he finally realizes Joyce isn’t crazy and joins her in the search for Will Byers. Of course, he had to initially play the role of the skeptical sheriff, but once he became knowledgeable of what was really going on, he went all in, and was crucial to rescuing Will.
