Super Smash Bros. Has A Ridiculous Number Of Stages And Music Tracks!

Super Smash Bros. has always been a franchise that’s just as much about paying respect to long-running video game franchises as it is about having a good time with a group of friends, and that’s always been reflected in the sheer number of characters, stages, tracks, and assist trophies.

Given that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate intends to literally be the “ultimate” version of this, it’s fitting that they’d have more options than you can shake a stick at. In their Nintendo Direct presentation, it was revealed that the game would feature a whopping 103 stages, which is almost twice as many as Super Smash Bros. Wii U, which featured 56 stages. Even if you exclude the flat stages like Battlefield, Final Destination, and Big Battlefield, that still leaves 100 stages. Damn.

And if you thought that was insane, just wait ’til you hear how many musical tracks the game will feature: 900. If you want to get picky and exclude menus and fanfare, it has closer to 800. All in all, it has 28 hours of music, and if you want a chance to just listen to the music without playing the game, you’re in luck, as that will be an option! You’ll be able to play the music while the Nintendo Switch’s screen is black.

Are all these features enough to convince you that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is worth picking up? Let us know down below!
