The first season of Superman & Lois has been well received. Doing well enough to earn the series a second-season pick-up that is ready to make its debut this fall. One of my favorite Superman runs came during DC’s Rebirth when Action Comics and Superman books focused a lot on the family dynamic of Superman. There are certain issues where it’s just Clark, Lois, and Johnathan going to the fair. Or a double date with Selina and Bruce. Giving Superman more humanity makes it a lot of fun to be able to relate to him.

Superman & Lois show us those same themes that I enjoyed in those books. Especially in those very “human” moments where we can all relate to their family. One part of the series that at times can feel like a character because of its familiarity in comics and films alike is the Kent home in Smallville.

Today during the DC FanDome event we were treated to an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the interior set of the Smallville home of the Kent family. Our tour guides for this experience were Superman & Lois stars Elizabeth Tulloch who plays Lois Lane, and Alex Garfin, who plays Jordan Kent. Here is the synopsis for Superman and Lois

After years of facing supervillains, monsters and alien invaders, the world’s most famous superhero. The Man of Steel aka Clark Kent and comic books’ famed journalist Lois Lane come face to face with one of their greatest challenges ever — dealing with being working parents in today’s society. Complicating the already daunting job of raising two boys, Clark and Lois worry about whether their sons, Jonathan and Jordan, could inherit their father’s Kryptonian superpowers as they grow older. 

Returning to Smallville to handle some Kent family business, Clark and Lois are reacquainted with Lana Lang and her Fire Chief husband, Kyle Cushing. The adults aren’t the only ones rediscovering old friendships in Smallville. As the Kent sons are reacquainted with Lana and Kyle’s rebellious daughter, Sarah. Of course, there’s never a dull moment in the life of a superhero, especially with Lois’ father, Gen. Samuel Lane looking for Superman to vanquish a villain or save the day at a moment’s notice.
