While Supernatural will head into its fourteenth season later this year, another attempted spin-off of the show has failed to be picked up by the CW. Wayward Sisters was set to be a branch off the Supernatural tree, unfortunately, the show wasn’t picked up. CW executives said the show wasn’t where they wanted it to be.
“We had really great material this year. We’re really excited about the five series we did pick up. We are big fans of the characters and the women who played the characters in the series, but we did not feel creatively the show is where we wanted it to be. We felt we had a better shot with Legacies.”

Wayward Sisters would have followed a close friend of the Winchester brothers, in Sheriff Jody Mills, who over past seasons has been introduced to the world of hunting by Sam and Dean. The series would have had Mills train girls to be hunters.
While Supernatural is a mainstay on the CW network, both attempted spinoffs of the show didn’t make it very far. Supernatural: Bloodlines only received a backdoor pilot during the ninth season of Supernatural, and wasn’t picked up. It’s a shame the latest spinoff attempt, Wayward Sisters, won’t get a series order either, as Jody Mills is a popular side character on Supernatural (one of my personal favorites), and having a familiar face may have allowed the show to blossom into another hit.
