Chris Hemsworth Hints At Thor’s Future After Avengers 4

With his home world destroyed during a battle between his sister and an ancient threat, Thor’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Avengers 4 (like a few other heroes) is uncertain. Currently, there are no plans for a fourth installment in the Thor franchise, but a recent interview in which the actor that plays Thor, Chris Hemsworth, thanks fans for making Avengers: Infinity War a huge success, has some vague wording that some might interpret as Hemsworth sticking around the MCU after Avengers 4.

“It was the biggest superhero film opening ever. The film continues to smash records left, right and center and, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – it’s all thanks to you guys. Thank you so much, everyone who continues to support these characters and the Marvel Universe. We’re going to keep trying to crank them out for you, if you let us.”

Hemsworth could simply be referring to Avengers 4, but since he didn’t specify, let the speculation begin. Though I think Hemsworth was perfectly cast as Thor, the First two Thor films are toward the bottom of my list as far as MCU entries, however, Ragnarok is one of my favorite Marvel movies, the direction the character took in that film was revitalizing for the franchise, and seems to have renewed Hemworth’s interest in playing the character.

Thor seems to match up well with the Guardians, and if Hemsworth stays around after Avengers 4, teaming up with and appearing in the films of the Guardians of the Galaxy seems almost natural.
