It was eight years ago that the world was introduced to Lorraine and Ed Warren in The Conjuring. This horror film did well enough to have not only sequels but spin-offs as well. These include Anabelle and The Nun. Today is the release of their next paranormal case in the New Line Cinema film, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. This is the seventh film of the franchise.
As always this film is based on one of the real-life cases that they investigated. I think that for me personally, the fact that these films are based on actual real experiences ups the level of chills and thrills. Whether you believe it or not really doesn’t matter as it’s presented to us as a form of entertainment. One thing is for sure, fans of this Conjuring Universe have a special place in their hearts for Lorraine and Ed, played by Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson.
Here is the synopsis for The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It
“The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” reveals a chilling story of terror, murder and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real-life paranormal investigators Ed and LorraineWarren. One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they’d ever seen before, to mark the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense.
With the release of the new Conjuring film, LRM Online’s Emmanuel Gomez spoke with Andrea Andrade. She plays a small role in the film as Katie. This was a fun conversation as she is also a fan of the franchise so there was a lot of geeking out about several aspects of the film. She also talks about the love, friendship, and partnership of Lorraine and Ed that make them so strong and unique. How else would they be able to deal with all the terrors they face?
