Tarantino Says His Final Film Will Be Epilogue-y

Yup, the closer we get to it, the more likely it seems like filmmaker Quentin Tarantino will be ending his career after his next movie. He’s been talking about it for years, and every single time someone brings it up, he seems to double down on the idea even more. After directing 10 movies, his time as a filmmaker will be up.

Assuming this is true…what can we expect for his final outing? He apparently discussed recently while visiting Moscow for a Once Upon a Time in Hollywood press conference.

“If you think about the idea of all the movies telling one story and each film is like a train boxcar connected to each other, this one would sort of be the big show-stopping climax of it all,” Tarantino said. “And I could imagine that the 10th one would be a little more epilogue-y.”

I’m not going to lie. I don’t know what that means. In terms of feel, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood feels nothing like a show-stopping climax and more of a sweet reflection on the industry he loves. If I were to thematically put things together, I think it would be the denouement of his career.

With that in mind, can we expect Tarantino’s next film to be even more low-key and laid back than Once Upon a Time in Hollywood? I’m still waiting for one movie of his that has zero deaths. Perhaps this could be the one!
