Thanos Connection To Eternals Confirmed? – Not Really!

Thanos connection to Eternals confirmed? Well, it kinda already was and, no, it has not been. Let me stop confusing you and get to the point.

If you know your comics, you know the connection between Thanos and The Eternals. Thanos parents were Eternals and it probably explains how powerful Thanos is compared to almost anyone else we have yet to meet in the MCU. Now the folks over at The Direct were able to visit and preview Toronto’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. prior to its COVID-19 caused closing this month.

Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. is an interactive exhibit that features MCU props and information to fans. One exhibit showed the information below.

“Thanos’ origin is said to be on Saturn’s largest moon, Titan, making him a Titanian in nature. It is rumored however that Thanos is the last of an ancient and highly sophisticated species known throughout the universe as ‘The Eternals’.”

Seems to make sense given what we know about Thanos comic book origins, I’ll grant you. However, I have to take some issue with the following line, ‘Thanos’ origin is said to be on Saturn’s largest moon, Titan, making him a Titanian in nature’. This line is plainly not canon with the MCU. Thanos was from Titan, yes, but not Saturn’s Titan. Tony and Nebula began Endgame stranded in deep space, not Earth’s own solar system.

If the exhibit get’s this wrong, then it’s possibly referencing Thanos comic backstory rather than anything new from Eternals. Fans have wondered whether a younger version of Thanos could be present in Eternals, even if briefly. This is a definite possibility, however, I don’t think it’s necessarily likely. It would all really depend on what the story purpose of showing Thanos was in Eternals. Maybe to show how he looks so non-Human? However, the story of Thanos is well and truly finished, for now.

Saying all that, we kinda already knew Thanos had a connection to The Eternals. So this is a fairly pointless debate. Thena, played by Angelina Jolie, should really be the cousin of Thanos unless Marvel are pulling some big switch. Therefore, in my opinion, this exhibit really can’t be trusted, yet doesn’t even tell us anything useful anyway. If you disagree, let me know below.

So to get back to my opening sentence. Thanos connection to Eternals confirmed? Well, it kinda already was and, no, it has not been. Sums it up.
