We already knew The Acolyte was filming this May, however we didn’t know where? It turns out The Acolyte will shoot in Pinewood this May. Previously LRM had debunked a rumor that The Acolyte was shooting in Pinewood in February. However since then it was confirmed through Production Weekly that the show didn’t begin till May. The same outlet has now updated to say that shoot will happening Pinewood and LRM has been able to corroborate this with an inside source who has never been wrong for us before on anything shooting at the famous London studio. Previously there was no mention of Pinewood and therefore we (I) wrongly assumed the show was shooting in the U.S.. Yet that didn’t make much sense when Ahsoka begins filming in the LA studio in March.
Something had to be happening at Pinewood and now the mystery is solved. You’ll see from both relates sections below that we have been following this story as best we can.

Another interesting thing to note in PW‘s latest issue is a brief synopsis of the show. Now, PW regularly will copy notes from other sites, usually official, for series they don’t have a synopsis for. For example sometimes these are taken straight from Marvel.com about certain characters. No such official information about The Acolyte exists, so I’m not seeing where this came from unless it’s somehow legit? That being said, I won’t bet the farm on that being the case. Here is what it says.
The Star Wars series is a female driven action mystery thriller with martial arts elements that will take us into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging Dark Side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.
It also says, (Amanda Stenberg mentioned for the role of Aura), which is likely taken from the Deadline report saying Stenberg was in advanced talks for the role. We covered that story Here.
If that synopsis is just cobbled together from rumors then there’s nothing here we didn’t already hear. Not officially of course, but that can hardly be expected at this pre-filming stage.

The only aspect I have not heard of before in any rumors is the marital arts line. I guess many Star Wars shows and movies have these elements anyway, what with Force users and swords. However, whether this is new or just regurgitated rumors is impossible to say for now. All we can be sure about is that The Acolyte will shoot in Pinewood this May, and that the production is expected to last until November.
