The world is quickly shifting to artificial intelligence thanks to ChatGPT and other apps that can assist us with writing, calculations, and decisions. In the timely film, The Artifice Girl, the film debates the idea of an AI ever-evolving to have feelings, thoughts, and self-conscience.
Here is the official synopsis of The Artifice Girl:
A team of special agents discovers a revolutionary new computer program to bait and trap online predators. After teaming up with the program’s troubled developer, they soon find that the AI is rapidly advancing beyond its original purpose.
The film stars Tatum Matthews, David Girard, Sinda Nichols, Franklin Ritch, and Lance Henriksen. Ritch directed and wrote the movie.

LRM online’s Gig Patta spoke with David Girard and Sinda Nichols, who plays the special agents that recruited artificial intelligence to assist law enforcement. We discussed artificial intelligence, the ethics debate, and aging in the film.
David Girard has over twenty years of experience in theater and film. Most recently, he has been seen in the movie Thurgood and Cocaine.
Sinda Nichols is known for her performances in film and theater. Her additional film credits included That Abandoned Place and He Belongs to Us. For anime fans, she voiced Priss, lead Knight Saber in the English-dubbed series Bubblegum Crash and Bubblegum Crisis. On the stage, she was known for her one-woman performance, The Belle of Amherst, and in the national tour of The Lady With All the Answers. Currently, she is in the pre-production of the dark comedy series Bettina Snodgrass Goes to Therapy and the one-woman dramedy Millie’s Diner.
The Artifice Girl is currently in select theaters, On Demand, and available digitally today.
