Taika Waititi is a busy guy. Fresh off an Oscar win for Best Adapted Screenplay for Jojo Rabbit and headed to direct the fourth Thor MCU film, Thor: Love and Thunder, he’s now in talks to executive produce and direct The Auteur. Jude Law is also in talks to play the lead character in the Showtime series.
I am a huge fan of self-deprecation. There’s nothing that can disarm a bully faster than making fun of yourself and your quirks. Hollywood, however, is both a bully and a victim. There are some elites in Hollywood that are so at of touch from the common person that they say and do things that cause them to have to spend weeks on a social media apology tour. There are also some grounded and down to earth Hollywood players that get the stink eye from the former group because they won’t forget where they came from and won’t let anyone else forget either.
The Auteur is set to play with the uppity and eccentric class of Hollywood players and show audiences that even the highest of highs can have its lows. There are no solid dates yet for filming or release, but I am always one for a good laugh.
