The Backstory Podcast launched today with former KCRW’s host, Jason Bentley.
The new podcast The Backstory consists of bringing two guests for each episode to discuss everything and anything. From current events, careers, politics, etc. No limitation with topics. Today’s first episode is with the actress Kristen Bell and psychologist Adam Grant.
Jason Bentley is a known DJ and radio disc jockey of electronic music. His career started with KCRW as a phone volunteer. While attending Loyola Marymount University he joined the campus radio station. By 1992 he was officially on air with KCRW. Last year he concluded his award winning KCRW show that lasted a decade.

Music has been a strong passion for Jason Bentley. In 2004 he helped stamp the Best Electronic/Dance Album field to the Grammy Awards. Bentley has been involved in supervising tracks for video games and films like Tron: Legacy and The Matrix trilogy. Including the upcoming Matrix 4 and Top Gun: Maverick.
I had a chance to speak with Jason Bentley last month about The Backstory via Zoom. He talked about how the podcast came together and works as a host to make a lively ambience for his guests. And of course we could not leave out discussing music and his Metropolis playlist.
