The Batman Part 2 Delayed Till 2026

It seems another spin-off series from The Batman was hinted at by The Penguin producer.

The Batman Part 2 has been delayed until 2026, specifically October 2, 2026, a whole year later than originally planned. The announcement was made yesterday by Warner Bros. Discovery, we got the news from as reported by The Wrap. Honestly there are a lot of reasons this move makes sense to me.

For one, it means WB/D are not releasing The Batman Part 2 in the same year they release Superman, set in a different Universe. I guess the second reason is because there is still no final script for the movie. Rumor is that there’s been a draft of the script in the wild. A few leakers have claimed to know a few details of the general plotline. However, all say the same thing, that Matt Reeves has still to finish the script and submit it to DC Studios.

Reeves in my opinion is a good writer, based on previous work I’ve seen. However, he is not a prolific writer, and you may recall that after first being announced The Batman took years to get into production. Since The Batman exists in it’s own Universe, with only upcoming The Penguin to add in, I don’t see any issue. Let Reeves cook and film the movie when the script is ready. It’s side ways to DC Studios new DCU plan anyway. No big rush, though rumors say there may be a Hush.

Reeves has been involved with The Penguin which is due to hit Max this year. I am looking forward to it as I thoroughly enjoyed The Batman as a movie. Farrell as Oz was just one of the highlights. One can hope Batman himself may show up, even as a cameo.

What do you think as The Batman Part 2 has been delayed until 2026, specifically October 2, 2026, a whole year later than originally planned.
