It was just a rumor, albeit from a quality source, but now it’s official. The Batman Part II begins production this November. Specifically, the 23rd of November as per producer Michael Uslan on Instagram.
We previously reported the production start date as published by Production Weekly Here. In that listing the production is set to take place in the U.K. once again, just like The Batman. That being said, there was some doubt in the fanbase since The Penguin series is currently filming in NYC. The official post from Uslan mentions nothing of location but PW rarely gets it wrong unless a change is made.
For now we don’t know exactly where this sequel will go. However, we may know more after The Penguin as that series is set after the events of The Batman. One thing is for sure, things will change in Gotham after the Riddler was able to enact his plot. However, as with all Batman movies, there will be a new villain and who could that be? For now your guess is as good as mine. Director Matt Reeves once said he’d love to do Hush, but would that be a bit similar to what we just had with Riddler? Joker is officially in-universe but will Barry Keoghan return? Do we really want Joker again so soon anyway?

Lots of questions and sorry, no answers. However the rumor mill will pick back up once production ramps up later this year and we get cast information, as always. Personally I’d like to see someone different, however I get the feeling that whoever Reeves chooses as the antagonist, it’s be a very different interpretation. Riddler was a breath of fresh air from what you’d expect after all.
The movie is set for release on October 3rd, 2025. Looking forward to it. And now it’s official that production begins on The Batman Part II this November. As always, leave your thoughts below.
