The Batman Trailer – A Closer Look At Catwoman & The Penguin | DC FanDome

Without a doubt, the moment everyone was waiting for during DC FanDome was the release of The Batman trailer. In the final moments of the event, after some behind-the-scenes looks and a quick conversation with director Matt Reeves, Robert Pattinson, and Zoë Kravitz the moment finally arrived. In case you haven’t seen it, here it is!

The Batman trailer opens up with the arrest of the Riddler. As he is taken away we see into his white and green coffee cup where a question mark appears. What is interesting about the trailer is that they keep Riddler’s face hidden throughout the whole trailer. While I wanted to see more, I also appreciated holding back and keeping some things for the film. Or maybe a trailer down the line.

There were two other characters that did dominate the trailer. One was Kravitz’s Selina Kyle aka Catwoman. The other, which was kind of a surprise to me was Colin Farrell’s Oswald Cobblepot, aka the Penguin. The culmination of the trailer shows Batman bringing down the Penguin in a fiery car chase.

Overall the colors, the tone, and the faced paced action sequences that we saw give us hope for a fantastic Batman film in 2022. I must say that the Batmobile looked really cool, getting a lot of classic muscle car vibes. I will say that I did think that we were going to get more Riddler after the release of the two posters yesterday.  Also not to be left out we had Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth say a few lines and Commissioner Gordon turning on the Bat-signal.
