Welcome back to the The Comic Stash! If you are new, this is where I go over some hot titles that are coming out this month.  There are numerous great titles out this month! These are just my picks. Be sure to check out what’s hot and collect what you like or what grabs your interest.  Let’s take a look at the September titles for your Comic Stash!

Week One September 1, 2021

DC Comics releases a few annuals coming out the first week of September.  Batman/Superman 2021 Annual #1 is by Gene Luen Yang with art by Paul Pelletier.  Harley Quinn 2021 Annual #1 is by Stephanie Phillips with art by David Lafuente.

Suicide Squad 2021 Annual #1 is from Robbie Thompson, with art by Dexter Soy, and Eduardo Pansica. For Aquaman fans there will be an 80th Anniversary one shot out this week. This will cover his first appearance and other great tales from over the years. For Batman fans there is, Batman: Fear State Alpha #1 by James Tynion IV with art by Riccardo Federici.

Image Comics has these great titles to get this week.  Geiger #6 is by Geoff Johns with art by Gary Frank and Brad Anderson. This is the last issue in this series and a double-sized issue.  Mirka Andolfo’s Sweet Paprika #2 will be out. It will be a fun book to read, along with great artwork. There is also be a second print of #1 out this week if you did not get #1 the first time around.

There is a Marvel series with the title Demon Days. Another one will come out this week with the title, Demon Days: Cured Web #1. The story and art is by Peach Momoko, with cover art by fan favorite Jenny Frison. Marvel will also release a new series, Dark Ages #1 (of 6) by Tom Taylor with art by Iban Coello. This story is about the world going dark and no hero can stop it from happening.

Dynamite Comics starts a new Red Sonja run and #1 will be out this week. The comic is by Mirka Andolfo with art by Giuseppe CaFaro. With this issue there will be a few variants to choose from.  From Aftershock Comics comes a new series with the title, Almost American #1 by Ron Marz with art by Marco Castiello.  This should be a great comic to read as it based on real Russian spies trying to defect to the United States.

Week Two September 8, 2021

DC Comics will have, The Joker: Puzzlebox #2. The story is by Mathew Rosenberg with art by Dani, Keron Grant, and Jesus Merino. IDW Publishing will release, Star Trek Mirror War #0 by David Tipton, and Scott Tipton with art by Carlos Nieto. This will be fun as we see Jean-Luc Picard in the Mirror World facing off against the rest of the universe.

Image Comics will have the title, Me You Love in The Dark #2 by Skottie Young with art by Jorge Corona will be out this week. There is also a second print of #1 out in case you want to pick it up. Marvel Comics will have Extreme Carnage Toxin #1. The comic is by Steve Orlando with art by Gerardo Sandoval coming out this week. This is part of a set of one-shot’s covering the Venom world. There is also a 5-issue mini-series with the title, Ka-Zar Lord of The Savage Land #1. The story is by Zac Thompson with art by German Garcia.

Star Wars Bounty Hunters #4 (of 5) is by Charles Soule with art by Luke Ross, will be out this week as well.  Dynamite Comics is releasing, Army of Darkness 1979 #1 by Rodney Barnes with art by Tom Garcia. We get to see Ash back in the 1970’s facing the dead and gangs from the Bronx. It should be a great comic to add to your collection.

Week Three September 16, 2021

DC Comics continues the story of Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy from the adult cartoon show, Harley Quinn the Animated Series.  This series is, Harley Quinn the Animated Series: The Eat, Bang, Kill Tour #1, by Tee Franklin with art by Max Sarin.

Image Comics has Primordial #1 by Jeff Lemire with art by Andrea Sorrentino. This should be a fun series to see why America and the Soviet Union stopped both of their space programs in this alternate Earth.  Marvel has another Venom one-shot coming out, Extreme Carnage: Agony #1. It is by Alyssa Wong with art by Fran Galan.

Another title coming out is, Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters Boushh #1 by Alyssa Wong with art by David Baldeon.  Kang the Conqueror #2 is also out. This so far has been a great story.  It is by Jackson Lanzing with art by Collin Kelly.

From Artists Writers & Artisans INC. comes a fun book because of the story, and art. Fight Girls # 3 (of 5)  are great reads because it is a little like the Hunger Games books. However, with a little more twist and the players are all women.

Week Four September 23, 2021

From Image Comics comes a new comic series, Frontiersman #1.The story is by Patrick Kindlon with art by Marco Ferrari. It should be fun to see what happens when a retired super-hero is bothered while trying to be left alone. This is for mature readers only.

Image Comics also has the title, Vinyl #4 by Dough Wagner with art by Dave Stewart. This comic series is for mature readers only. We follow Walter with his group of series killers as they try to rescue his best friend. The last thing coming from Image Comics is a new volume for an old series, Ant #1. It is by Erik Larsen with art by Hal Laren.

From Marvel Comics comes, Alien #7 by Phillip Kennedy Johnson with art by Salcador Larroca.  The comic series is great as it keeps you guessing of what might happen next in the story. Marvel Comics also has a mini-series, Death of Doctor Strange #1 (of 5). The comic is by Jed MacKay with art by Lee Garbett.

Boom! Studio’s title Something is Killing the Children, has issue #20 and hopefully you have been reading this series. Another title coming out from this week is, Eat the Rich #2. The story is by Sarah Gailey with art by Pius Bak.

Aftershock Comics has issue #4 of Bunny Mask coming out this week. Like I said before, it is a great story!

DC Comics has a new title coming this week, Batman VS Bigby! A Wolf in Gotham #1. It is by Bill Willingham with art by Brian Level. Another new one-shot coming out, Batman Secret Files: Miracle Molly #1 by James Tynion IV with art by Dani.

Week Five September 30, 2021

From Marvel Comics comes a new series title, Inferno #1. The story is by Jonathan Hickman with art by Valerio Schiti. This looks to be a fun series. I have been looking forward to this for a while.

Image Comics has Adventureman #5 by Matt Fraction with art by Terry and Rachel Dodson. I enjoy the story as there is so much going on. But also, I am a long time fan of Dodson’s art.

DC Comics has a new series coming this week with the title, Deathstroke Inc. #1. It is by Joshua Williamson with art by Howard Porter. This is new series so there will be about six covers to pick from. The title should be a very interesting read as we see Slade Wilson working with a new partner Black Canary!

Marvel Comics has another Venom book coming out this week with the title, Extreme Carnage: Omega#1. The writing is by Phillip Kennedy Johnson with art by Manuel Garcia. For those who are missing and waiting on the next season of Stranger Things, don’t worry! Here is a mini-series from Dark Horse ComicsStranger Things: Tomb of Ybwen #1 (of 4) is by Greg Pak with art by Diego Galindo.

The last book I will like is from Second Sight Publishing with the title, These Damn Kids #1. The writing is by Bradley Golden, and Peter Breau with art by Helmut Racho. It is about a small town where the kids start acting strange and start killing their parents and other adults. It has the Children of the Corn feel and supernatural mix with the story. This is for mature readers only so don’t let the kids see or read this one! This month it seems like a ton of books are coming out and per norm if there is five Wednesdays in that month the last week has the biggest releases.
