The Flash movie from Warner Bros. is about as elusive as a film could ever be. Out of all the potential films out there in the DC world, this one has blown through more directors and iterations. Last we checked, it was still set to be a Flashpoint adaptation, but I have my doubts it’ll stay that way. That being said, IT director Andy Muschietti has been attached for some time, so perhaps that’s all great news in favor of the movie actually happening. 

But, in spite of that good news, the reality is we haven’t seen much of anything for the movie. Actually, the only thing we’ve seen in terms of traction for the film was that video months back with Ezra Miller supposedly grabbing a fan by the collar of her shirt. And it was only “traction” in the sense that it brought his casting into question. 

Hopefully, that news drought will come to an end soon. When asked on Instagram when we could expect more news, producer Barbara Muschietti said, “It’s coming! news very soon!”

I would normally brush this off. After all, this Flash movie has been in the works for like half a decade. However, we do know that some big announcements are on the way very soon. Comic-Con season is approaching, and while the actual event isn’t happening, DC is hosting their own FanDome event. If there was ever a time to announce something special going on with this Flashpoint movie, this would be it. 

Then again, with COVID-19 still happening, it’s not like production would likely begin before summer of next year. After all, Hollywood still has to finish the dozens of projects they halted earlier this year. Still, one can hope that things are finally coming together. Of all the characters in the Justice League, the Flash isn’t remotely one of the more difficult characters to adapt to the big screen, so hopefully they crack this nut quickly.
