The Good Place hasn’t even finished its third season over at NBC, but it looks like it’s doing well enough to warrant another season. According to the folks at Deadline, the network has officially picked a fourth season of reality-bending, ethic-raising shenanigans.
“Congratulations to Mike Schur and an exceptional cast and crew, all of whom collaborate to create a thoughtful, mind-bending and hysterical series unlike anything else on television,” said Tracey Pakosta and Lisa Katz, Co-Presidents, Scripted Programming, NBC Entertainment. “We can’t wait to see what unexpected stories the new season will bring.”
While this is great news for all involved, it is worth noting that the show has been facing a ratings decline this entire season. Its highest-rated episodes are among the lowest rated the previous season, and it’s nowhere near reaching the same number of people as it did in its first season.

Regardless, in terms of story, I’ve personally loved the majority of the show thus far. It may have a bit too fast for my taste at times (resulting in a shallow execution of key moments), but it’s managed to keep me guessing at every turn and keep me caring along the way. The big question I’m sure we all have is: Where can things possibly go from here? Guess we’ll have to wait and see!
